Welcome to my Blog

technorati claim token 74WEEATKQXNS

This my personal/professional blog. I have been planning to write one for a while. Today I will start and hopefully make this a habit soon.

Who am I?

My name is David Wagner. I am from Potsdam, Germany, and I am currently a PhD student at the University of Nottingham in the UK. My background is in business and psychology. Over the past couple of years I have studied and worked in Europe, Latin America and North America. I am an active sportsman (running, swimming, volleyball) and I am extremely interested in the so called social web.

Please check out my other profiles on the web to see what I have been doing (lately): Xing, LinkedIn, Twitter, Delicious

What am I doing this for?

This blog should be considered a digital diary of my research efforts. Over the forthcoming years, I will analyze how social media are used in a professional environment. I would like to have a look at the psychological phenomena underlying our use of social media, but at the same time translate these findings back into the business world. I am convinced that the web has changed the way we live and work today and I am sure there are many more changes to come. I believe a blog is the most suitable instrument to reflect on my research.

How can you be part of this?

I am looking forward to sharing my ideas with you, but I would also like to draw on your suggestions and feedback. I think it will make my research better and more 'applied' in the real sense of the word. Please do leave comments and feel free to get in touch - using the media channel of your choice ;-)
