About me

Who am I?

My name is David Wagner. I am currently a PhD student at the Europa-Universität Viadrina and the German Graduate School of Management and Law as well as a lecturer at the Business School Potsdam. My background is in management and psychology. Over the past couple of years I have studied and worked in Europe, Latin America and North America. I am an active sportsman and I am extremely interested in the so called social web.

Feel free to check out my other profiles on the web to see what I have been doing (lately): CV, DCR Research, Psychological Testing Centre, XingLinkedInTwitter, Facebook, Delicious.

What am I doing this for?

This blog should be considered a digital diary of my research efforts. Over the forthcoming years, I will analyze how social media are used in professional settings. I would like to have a look at the psychological phenomena underlying our use of social media, but at the same time translate these findings back into a business context. I am particularly interested in how people maintain relationships online and what impact social media have on knowledge transfer within organizations. The web has changed the way we live and work today and I am sure it will trigger more exciting changes in the future. I believe this blog is the most suitable instrument to reflect on my research.

Why kpsquared?

I have chosen the name of the blog deliberately. Given my background, I am interested in how people behave within organizations and how their skills and knowledge affect the operational bottom line. Thus, I have chosen the title kpsquared which stands for Knowledge People Performance.

How can you be part of this?

I am looking forward to sharing my ideas with you, but I would also like to draw on your suggestions and feedback. I think it will make my research better and more 'applied' in the real sense of the word. Please do leave comments and feel free to get in touch.
